The cheerleaders, our school spirit per- sonified! Some may think that all the teamwork and school spirit takes place on the field or basketball floor. The girls who lead those cheers just don't get up there out of the blue. It takes hours of practice and really hard work. Spirit and pep are the essentials necessary. A girl trying' out may first get on the Junior Varsity and cheer at all the Junior Varsity Qaniesf Then the following year the varsity squad may be the next step. This year two varsity mem- bers will be grraduating, Colleen Emanuel, captain, and Nancy Seaman. Mrs, Lease, the squad's sponsor, de- serves credit for the good showing of the cheerleaders this past school term. Through her patience and backing, the cheerleading contest. which was held at Davidsville, was made poss'ble. For this contest the new cheer, Satal ',. Bid, was deyised.
