Tha-y promote good sportsmanship and athletics. Spring trzu-lc events are among the most exciting. The Voziclies' Meet, Tri-County Meet, and the District Mm-I, zirf- sonic oi' the events the boys participated in. Some oi' the activities taking place at the events were the throw of the javclin, the pole vault, the 880-yard relay and others. Getting together for a good game of basketball are the Key Club boys. Here the boys are practicing a few foul shots before a game with the Shop boys. The Key Club played every other Thursday night. A full schedule of activities kept the Shop De- partment boys pretty well occupied and physically fit. These fellows met each Monday night and played intramurals with the other clubs in the school. The Ag basketball players, twelve in number, also added their skill to the intramurals. Most of the boys who did not take part in the major sports find it very exciting in helping their clubs win by adding their skill. The minor sports help to promote co-operation throughout the entire student body. , E 1 If I, f .1 xx f s .,k. XFZOALJX 9. 3, .XX 3 tfcimff ef' VVil1iam Tell had nothing over these seven enthusiastic-looking senior misses, Here Charlotte, Carolyn, Julia, Myrna, Patti, Jane, and Joann look very eager to try and shoot an apple off someone's head. Any volunteers? By the looks of the target someone had a few beginners luck shots. This year was the first that archery was introduced to both the girls and boys gym classes. Shoot! Shoot! No that isn't cheers coming from a shooting gallery, it's only the girls in the process of playing a very exciting basketball game, Carolyn, that was unfair! Don't you think you had an advantage of being just a little taller than Elizabeth? ' Bottom picture shows the girls in another phase of the sports perfonned in the gym classes. Volleyball proved to be a very exciting' undertaking this year. Ex- cept for a few bumps on the head or noses, everyone came out of the intramurals, that were played among the home rooms, feeling very happy or feeling sportsman- likc-:,iwhatever the case might have been. X Elizabeth, you wouldn't be laughing like that if you were the one that was knocked on the head, Mary Jane is raring to get that ball.
