As you know my daughter Penny started to school thls year Thls brought back many happy mernorles of class mates and dear ol Cambr1a I-hgh I hear you have become famous In my op1n1on you could have plcked a less strenuous occupatlon than professlonal wrestllng I saw the name Yukon Carlson come on the screen but I had no ldea lt was my old frlend l:.1leen Gorgeous Betsy gave you a hard tlme but we were proud to see you wxn We always thought Donnle was gomu to be a farmer but we never guessed he would ralse parakeets for a lxvmg Sharon and thexr three httle glrls enjoy teach1ng the parakeets how to talk I guess Mary Jo s dream of becommg a soclal worker came true She has contnbuted a lot to the Welfare Agency ln Nebraska They wLll be sad to see her leave when she becomes the brlde of a prosperous farmer ln June After dlnner last nlght our famlly went to a movle and lo and behold who should we see on the screen but Rock Sheets formerly known to us as Gary We hear From Here To Obl1v1on 1n whlch he 1S currently starrlng 1s a strong contender for the Academy Award Ian1ce s childhood dreams of becomlng a nurse dldn t come true but the professlon she has chosen has made her just as happy She IS a profess1onal bowler and has recently won the champlonshlp for bemg the outstandlng bowler of the year She bowls an average of Z75 I never once thought when Rae Newell jolned the Navy he would make a career of xt He IS stanoned at Annapolls Maryland Rae 1S an 1nstructor ln the a1r craft carrler d1v1s1on Hls wlfe and two llttle boys l1ve nearby Brooklyn Dodgers owe the wmmng of the pennant to Rex s outstandmg lnfleld play One of h1s most devoted fans IS h1s wLfe Carolyn Say lf you ever need to fly from New York to San FIGHCISCO you should go to the LaGuard1a Alrport and take a plane Our old frlend Rex Perklns runs that fllght regularly and we mean runs Stewardesses pursue h1m up and down the aisles all during the fllght I got a letter from Rex and he told me that only a few blocks from where he llves Loyed had opened the Slngleton Slenderella Salon I-le IS very wealthy and IS C onsldered one of the most elxglble bachelors Ln New York I heard that Linda Newton IS ln Afrlca She has just completed capturlng elephants for the St Louls Zoo She and her husband are busy at the tlme maklng a survey for the Woman s Home Qompamon on the Uka Buka Nat1ves I read Ln the paper that Wendell Terrell a well known Jeweler ln England reported the theft o a dlamond necklace two emerald earrmgs and f1ve sapph1re broaches He lmmedlately not1f1ed Sc otland Yard Who should answer the call but Rlchard Sherlock Holmes famous sleuth for Scotland Yard We hear that thls case w1ll be televxsed on B1g Story next week Sherloc k always catches h1s man Isn t It great that the fame of some of our Classmates has traveled so far and wlde Due to the shortage of tap danclng teachers Llnda Seddon has started a new class Our daughter as well as the Seddons takes lessons from her Kathy Joan Seddon and Penny Ann Schumann are a dance team and appeared on B111 Rxley s Teen Tlme as Talent Sprouts Well I must get supper for my famlly now If you ever get to thls small town of Charlton drop ID and see us Your old classmate Elsle I , 0 . . 66455 Adfory In 1944 twelve brlght eyed bashful and mlschlevous youngsters enrolled Ln klndergarten under the supervlslon of Loulse Condra They were Elsxe Brmer Sarah Church Gerald Grlmes Rex Perkms Gary Sheets Gary Shrwer Fredd1e Sponsler Larry Langford Donme McConnell Llnda Relph Donnxe Wllllams and Wendell Terrell Durlng the summer we lost Gary Shrlver Larry Langford and Donnle McConnell When we returned 1n the fall of 1945 we were very much surpr1sed to see a new teacher Bernadean Carlson awa1t1ng us We also galned a new student Janlce Klrchner The fall of 1946 held several surprlses for us We acqulred a new teacher Arlene Hawklns and we also stepped lnto another room Dur1ng thls year four new students Jomed us They were .hm Narber Glen Goben Donnxe McConnell and Judy Klrby We lost Sarah Church and Freddie Sponsler In our thlrd year we regamed our fxrst grade teacher Bernadean Carlson We also gamed Joyce Erb Rae Newell and Rex Mead Wendell Terrell and Donnle Mc Connell left us thls year Roberta Anderson was our fourth grade teacher We were very fortunate not to lose any students but we added Larry Grlmes Gregory Downs and Lee Smlth to our class Roberta Anderson was agaln our teacher durlng our f1.fth grade year Thls year we were sorry to lose Gerald Grlmes Jlm Narber Rae Newell and Gregory Downs To make up for the loss Beverly Gu1berson and Dlck Holmes Jolned our class Wendell Terrell and Raymond Newell returned to our class ln our sLxth year We lost Judy Kxrby Glen Goben and Beverly Gxuberson Our teacher was agaxn Roberta Anderson In the seventh grade the enrollment remamed the same wlth the exceptlon of losmg Joyce Erb Our teacher was Evelyn Lewls Mrs Lewls returned as our teacher ln the elght grade Dur1ng thls year we galned Roy Besco and Mary Jo Stander The eighth grade graduatmg class consisted of Roy Besco Elsle Brmer Larry Gnmes D1ck Holmes Janlce Klrchner Rex Mead Rae Newell Rex Perkms Lmda Relph Gary Sheets Mary Jo Stander Wendell Terrell and Donme Wllllams In the fall of 1953 we entered hlgh school as freshmen The class remalned the same wlth the except1on of losmg Roy Besco and Rae Newell and gammg Elleen Carlson Llnda Newton and Loyed Slngleton Sometlme durlng the summer we lost Wendell Terrell but he returned durlng the mlddle of the term of our sophomore year We also lost Larry Grlmes about a month after school started Dur1ng th1s year we acquired Charlotte Naylor and Rae Newell Dur1ng the summer before our JUJIIOI' year we lost Charlotte Naylor Otherwlse the enrollment remamed the same The class of 57 conslsts of fourteem students elght boys and SIX gxrls Elsle Brxner Schumann Dlck Holmes Eileen Carlson Rex Mead Rae Newell Janlce Klrc hner Llnda Newton Wendell Terrell Donald Wllllams Loyed Slngleton Mary Jo Stander Gary Sheets Lmda Relph and Rex Perkms Our teachers dur-mg our hlgh school days have been Freshman Mlss Smclalr Mr Fultz.
