Class Prophecy May ZZ. 1966 Little Falls, Minnesota Dear Carolyn With school about out here in Little Falls it was brought to my mind that our class reunion is not far off At the present my husband and I are in hopes we can return to Iowa to see you and all the rest of the classmates of 1956 I am not so sure my daughter learned very much in school this year As you prob ably know, I was her teacher I wonder how our Missourian is getting along I am sure Francis, his wife, and six children have no trouble taking care of his large goat farm I Just hope he doesn t stub his toe on a rock and break it so he will not be able to come You should see the dress I bought the other day at a fashion show' It is one of our own Judy Orner originals She and her husband after their many trips to Paris have finally settled down 1n New York City Mary Lou moved to California so she can be with Bob who has made the Marines his career I hear their trailer house 15 quite crowded with their one boy and twin girls Mary Lou surely 15 not very lonesome with Bob bringing home several Cambria kids who are under his command The only bachelor of our class is Dean Ellis From what I hear he surely can t escape the girls too much longer The F B I finally caught up with him' He has now After college and a few years of teaching, Moneta and Donald have settled down in Cheyenne, Wyoming I imagine Moneta has her hands full with her llttle red headed girl and keeping up with Donald's school activities Jerry Barton always said he was going to be a bachelor, but at the present I think it would be hard to leave a wife and five children I heard that he has now made the military service his career Do you remember our supposed to be ballerina? I guess Joy turned out to be the only one true to Cambria At the present, she has three children attending Cambria school Of course there is another to start this fall S1nce Mardell and I went to college together we have always been in close contact Last summer when our family spent its vacation in the West, we stopped to see Mardell and her family Of course you know a couple years after we graduated from college she lassoed herself a Texan As I remember, you and Loren were the only two of our Senior Class to carry out their high school romance In a letter I received from Moneta she mentioned that Loren found being President of the 'Crosley Corporat1on was quite different from raising turkeys, and I was happy to know that you were all enjoying city life When was it that you moved to Bay City, Michigan? Since Moneta and you went to college together, I lfflaglne you hear from her quite often Your life surely 1sn't dull teaching all those thirty second graders You must have a very mischievous group of children It doesn't seem possible that you could have a girl in the first grade I hope to see you at the reunion In case we don't make it and you are ever in Little Falls, be sure to look us up A Classmate, Kay ! b . . . , . . Class History One brlght sunsluny day 1n the fall of 1943, fourteen br1ght eyed youngsters entered the Cambrla Consolldated School They we re Moneta Allred, Mary Lou K1rchner, Carolyn S1lcott, Mananna Schmell Sarah Church, E1leen Greenfleld Dean Ell1s, Glen Goben, Larry Gr1mes, D1ck Holmes, Donald Lee I-larlen Bobb1e Benway, Raymond Merlcle, and Jlmmy Cooper Our teacher was MISS Loulse Condra Durxng the summer Rayrnond Merlcle and Sarah Church moved from our communlty As t1me has passed we have lost and ga1ned many classmates In the f1rst grade .T1mmy Elwood 3o1ned us and we lost Glen Goben Our teacher was st1ll M1ss Condra In the fall when we went 1nto the second grade, we were sorry to f1nd that Bobb1e Benway J1mm1e Elw ood, and Marlanna Schmell we re no longer w1th us Durlng th1s year we lost .hmmy Cooper and Elleen Greenheld but ga1ned Darral Oz1as and Gene Narber At th1s t1me Betty Jean Holhday was our teacher Mlss Arleen Hawklns was our thlrd grade teacher We ga1ned Patr1c1a McK1nney for a short tlme and by the end of th1s year we also lost Darrel Oz1as In our fourth year we held our own number We lost Donald Harlen and Larry Grlmes but ga1ned Kay Mead and Karmen G1bbs Our teacher was Roberta Norr1s As we entered f1fth grade Roberta Norrls agaln met us at the door Dur1ng the year we lost Gene Narbor and D1ck Holmes It was at th1S t1me we ga1ned the E1leen Greenfleld returned to our class ln our slxth year and Glenys Boston also Jo1ned the fold We st1ll had the same teacher th1S year w1th a d1fferent name Mrs Roberta Anderson In the seventh grade we ne1ther lost nor ga1ned anyone Our teacher was Mrs Evelyn A Lew1s Durlng our last year of grade school we lost E1leen Greenheld and ga1ned Loren Spoon We graduated from the e1ghth grade w1th mne 1n our class whlch meant we had a net loss of f1VC pup1ls dur1ng our grade school days Mrs Evelyn A Lew1s was our last grade school teacher In the fall of 1952 we entered hlgh school Wlth ten members Th1s meant we had one new member who was Jerry Barton As sophomores we lost Karmen Gmbbs and Glenys Boston and ga1ned Judy Orner and Mardell Newton Th1s st1ll left us ten Lyle Van Fleet was wlth us 1n our Jumor year but moved dur1ng the summer As senlors Joy Loney Jolned us These var1ous changes dur1ng our school career left us wlth a membershlp of eleven 1n our graduatlng class They are Moneta Allred Mary Lou Klrchner Carolyn Sllcott Judy Orner, Kay Mead, Mardell Newton Joy Loney, Dean Ell1s Loren Spoon Jerry Barton and Franc1s Snook There has been four w1th the class the entlre th1rteen years They are Moneta Allred Mary Lou K1rchner, Carolyn S1lCOtt, and Dean Ell1s O . . . , . . , D .
