That's Our Team Starting this season as 1951 district consolation winners, the Cambria- Comets opened the l952 season with a twenty-six game schedule. Cambria suffered defeats during the regular season, losing two apiece to three strong teams--LeRoy, Garden Grove, and Seymour. One important feature of this season was the one point difference between the Comets and Seymour. The strong Seymour team lead most of the way, but during the last quarter the Comets started to close the margin. Time ran out, however, ending the game 47-48. TOURNAMENT PLAY The string of victories increased for the Comets by climbing to the finals in the Wayne County Tournament, only to be overpowered by the Seymour sextet--39-29. During the sectional tournament the Comets bowed to the strong Garden Grove team in the semi-final round. The Comets ended the season winning the consolation round defeating Humeston 49-36.
