Class H :story Thxrteen years ago thxrteen bright eyed youngsters anxxously boarded the Cambrxa Consolxdated School buses for thexr fxrst day at school When they arrlved they found that Mxss Mary Margaret Klng was to be the1r teach er for kmdergarten The pupzls were Maureta Dunn Vxrglma Elsworth Hazel Fortune Charles Lamberson Waydene Martley Donna Massey Rex Moore Phyllxs Ann Myers Edwin Myers, Margaret Ream Jo Ann Sheets Charles Watsabaugh Sammy West and Kenneth Wxlhams The next fall Colleen Farman and Helen Fox joxned our class and Mxss King was agaxn our teacher but Phylhs Ann Myers Charles Watsabaugh and Sammy West were not wxth us In the second grade Phxllp Brown and Nadme Kerrms joxned at the hrst of the school term Vlrgmla Ellsworth Colleen Farman and Nadme Ke rrlns left Faye Frank entered durmg the last of the year Ruberta Baker was the teacher of th1s group Miss Betty Holxday was the teacher of the thxrd grade We had one addltlon to the class Julza Ann W1ll1ams however Ph111p Brown left after four weeks of school and Julma Ann and Waydene Martley left the flrst of March In the second semester of the fourth grade Richard Brown and Lee Holmes Joined our class Miss Norma Donald was the teacher She was also the teacher for the fxrst semester of the flfth grade but was then replaced by Loudean Empey Verlon Metzger dropped back to our class because of xllness and I..aDonna and James Benway moved durxng the fifth sxx weeks Mxss Blanche Coates was our teacher Mxss Coates was also our teacher durlng the seventh grade durmg thls year Margaret Vandenburg Jomed the group and Faye Frank moved The eighth grade was taught by Mr C N Kxpper We presented a one act play Llfe of the Party after whlch we recelved our dlplomas Those graduatmg from the exghth grade were Roger Benda Rlchard Brown Maureta Dunn Lee Holmes Hazel Fortune Charles Lamberson Donna Massey Verlon Metzger Margaret Ream Io Ann Sheets Margaret Vandenburg and Kenneth Wxllrams A well remembered event of the year was a party at the Humeston Reservozr Seven new members enrolled m hxgh school wxth our group makmg nmeteen Freshmen These new members were Margaret Ann and Mary Ballard Ruth and Ruby Elwood Frank Church Joan Cashatt and Max Moore joxned m the sprlng Beryl McCreary was our class sponsor St Patrlck s Day prov1ded a theme for an all hlgh school party we sponsored Mary and Margaret Ballard d1d not begm our Sophomore year wxth us and Roger Benda and Frank Church left 1n March Thls made a class of flf teen whose sponsor was Lcnna Osborn Dur1ng thls year we sponsored an all hxgh school Halloween Party whlch was very enjoyable ll I , - . . - .
