l I Here we see Doc off the campus, having shed his intellectual cloak for a congenial cape on the college level. In his busy schedule he still finds time to coach the golf team and to make the rounds on the greens with the boys. Taking pre-med? Dropping pre-med? Doc is your man to see. Much of Dr. DeVries' time is spent in private counsellingg he has guided many Calvin students toward their future goals. His patience and humor have endeared him to all his students. Hav- ing difficulty with that chemistry problem? Trouble with that new girl friend? XVon- dering whether you should teach chemistry next year? Doc is your man to see. Doc, you've gone Beyond The Atom. XVhat are you looking for now? Yes, we are proud of our author and American Man of Science, and are looking forward to the completion of his new textbook, a survey of chemistry, physics, and geology. A mem- ber of Sigma Xi, a national honorary scho- lastic fraternity in the Held of science, Dr. DeVries is also found in Who's Who in the Midwest. His integration of a deep Christian philosophy with science is a con- stant influence both in the classroom and in his writings.
