THEYVE GOT THE MUSIC The 1982-83 Pep Band led the school in spirit during the basketball season. Consisting of 23 members and directed by Mr. Curtis King, the Pep Band played at the boys' varsity and reserve basketball games. Much spirit has been added to the season because ofthe involvement ofthe Pep Band. The Calvert Flag Squad proudly displays the Calvert banner during a local parade, Gretchen Bevelander performs for the home crowd. FLAG SQUAD - During the football season the Flag Squad worked closely with the band in generating school spirit. They received first place in the Miss Drill Team USA. competition in Mansfield on December 5. Serving as co-captains for the year were Susan jones and Brenda Buchman. MAJORETTES - Using special ef- fects such as canes, flag barons and two batons, the ma jorette squad performed at pre-game and half-time shows. I Row 3 j Theresa Drake, Ginny Williams, Carolyn Brose, David Gassner, jay Brucker, Danna Derr. The 1982-83 Concert Band did not see a great amount of active duty this year. In spite of this lack of action, the Concert Band continued its diligent practice. The band did, however, get two opportunities to display its talents. It performed at the National Machinery Citiaenship Awards program and during Catholic Schools Week.
