Dedication We, the Class of 1965, Dedicafe This Yearbook to Sister Mary Scholastica . . . in appreciation for all she has done for us and for which we can never truly repay her. As a teacher, she has not only contributed to our scholastic achievement but she has impressed upon us the importance of alwaysgivingthe best of ourselves. As advisor of both the Calvert News and the Calvertana staffs, she has spent many long hours poring over and offering solu- tions to the many problems brought to her. As a friend she has won the love of those near her and has guided us in any way she could. For these reasons and many more, We dedicate this Calvertana to Sister Mary Scholastica . Foreword Summer days beginto wane . . . vacation travels draw to a close and school opens its doors to learning . . . cooler weather soon sets in . . . nature takes on her crimson robes . . . frost finally severs the life veins of nature and golden leaves flutter earthward . . . football weather has arrived . . . band formations . . . cheerleaders tears . . . victory shouts . . . all bring on the memorable long-awaited homecoming. Nowthe air is always brisk . . . breathisfrosted . . . winter coats are donned and worn for the first time of the season to the senior class play . . . time again passes . . . the fury of winter rages outside . . . warmth and excitement reign within as the students cheer the basketball team on to victory. Winter's reign has reached its end . . . soft spring breezes replace the blustery gusts . . . the sunwarms the earth, bringing it back to life . . . students too are renewed and revived . . . new sports are initiated . . . some try their hand at wrestling, golf, and ten- nis . . . the birds constantly chirp their melodies . . . the operetta and its songs envelope the hearts of all. The days grow even longer . . . baseball fills the final evening hours . . . seniors spend their last days at Calvert . . . amidst the beauty of spring. May ap- proaches . . . the brown grass changes to its velvety greencarpet . . . flowers burst intobloom . . . Mary is crowned Queen . . . summer has returned again . . . graduation is over all too soon . . . as the stu- dent leaves, the school doors close for the summer . . . vacation begins again.
