Foreword Throughout history windows have served a twofold purpose, to provide beauty and light. One can see this purpose fulfilled by the windows of the irreplace- able Gothic cathedrals of Europe built during the Mid- dle Ages. These famous stained glass windows are beautifully symbolic of religious truths.,Even.today, our modern architects plan structures which have enhanc- ing and purposeful windows. So too the windows of Calvert fulfill their twofold purpose. Colorful and practical windows throughout the school enhance the beauty of our newly dedi- cated building. Moreover, the very atmosphere they create by the amount of light they admit is conducive to study. However, the windows of our school do more than merely provide beauty and light. One can see in them o symbol of the supernatural light which enlightens the souls and minds of Calvert students. The windows of Calvert may also be said to serve as glass mirrors which reflect the activities of its be- loved students. These very windows reflect the same pictures which are revealed in the following pages of the Calvertana. 2
