40g . oewod As a tribute to those who have sacrificed so much for our happiness, we, the class of 1955, gratefully dedicate our yearbook to our parents. Our mothers heard our first words, taught us our first prayers, saw us leave for our first day of school, and helped us when our homework seemed too difficult. Our fathers earned the money for our first pair of shoes, carried us on their shoulders, were pleased at our good report cards, and helped us grow into good Catholics and good citizens. Although we cannot repay their time or material sacrifices, we hope that we can be the kind of young men and women that our parents wish us to be, and in such a way insure them that their efforts have not been in vain, but that they have co-operated with God to increase the population of our future eternal Home. Bflffzop of Toledo His Excellency MOST REVEREND GEORGE J. REHRING, D.D. Though the students at Calvert are a small part ot Bishop Rehring's tlock, they feel very happy that he honors them with his presence at their Graduation Exercises. They know that a Bishop has many duties and responsibilities and so they greatly appreciate the kind- ness ot their own Bishop in following a precedent begun by Cardinal Stritch. Even though the boys and girls ot Calvert know their Bishop mainly through his letters to his people, they see in these letters a follower of Our Lord- a kind, considerate, ever watchful shepherd, a true lover ot souls. As a shepherd guards his sheep, so Bishop Rehring guards his people. The Calvert students pledge themselves to be true and loyal to their Bishop and sincerely thank him for his spiritual guidance. 4
