Are You Qne of The Wisemen? . Year after year at Christmas time we hear the beloved story of the three Wisemen who brought their gifts to Jesus. But there is another group of wisemen mentioned in the Scriptures who also bring gifts to Christ. Their gifts are far more precious than gold and silver, and Jesus said that there is joy in the presence of the angels of God when these gifts are presented. Who are these wisemen? Hear the words written in the Book of Proverbs . . . He that winneth souls is wise . Again in Daniel we find . . . And they that be wise shall shine as the -brightness of the firmament: and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever . What are the gifts? Souls of men and women won for the Master. Are you a Wise- man? If so, you are a Soulwinner. According to God's Word this privilege is not left entirely to the Pastor and Evangelist. The great Commission of Christ . . . to preach the Gospel to every creature . . . is halted and hindered when the born-again Christian loses his vision of personal evangelism. So often the Christian will say, But l clon't know how tollead a man to Christ . The qualifications of the soulwinner are few but very important. First, you must know that you, yourself, are born-again. You must be sure that your sins are forgiven and that you are a possessor of everlasting life through the precious blood of Christ. Second, pray earnestly that God will give you a burden and a passion for souls. lf you mean it, He'll answer that prayer, for it is the longing of His heart to save souls through you. Third, memorize some Salvation Scriptures and also be able to turn to them quickly in your Bible. Some times the news of Salvation will seem almost too good to be true to the sin-sick man and you will double the strength of your ministry if you can show him where the verse is actually in the Bible. lt is God's Word that brings forth life and Jesus, Himself, said The words that l speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life . Therefore, never argue with a sinner but give him the Word of God. Even if you know only John 3:16, John 5:24, and Romans l0:9, you have enough to win a soul to Christ. Fourth, now go to work. When Peter and Andrew went fishing, they went to the Sea of Galilee where fish were. When Christ said to them Follow me, and l will make you fishers of men He took them to places where sin- ners were. So it is the Christian's business to take the Gospel to people who need it. At work, at home, and wherever you go you'll find these needy folks. It is the personal Christ that man needs today and if you can explain to a man that when Christ died on the Cross, l-le died not only for the world in general but for that man personally, you strike at his heart's door. You'll never know a greater thrill than that day when you lead your first soul to Christ. If the Christ you know satisfies every need of your human heart, then why not introduce Him to someone else? Be a Wiseman! --Etta A. Robbins
