Dr. Madison was born and raised on a 13,000 acre ranch in western South Dakota. He learned discipline at an early age, as he rode from early morning until late at night, rounding up cat- tle and securing their safety. In his early teens, he attended Byron Bible Camp in Huron, South Dakota where he accepted Christ as his personal Savi- our. Soon after the services, Dr. Madison's counselor vividly pictured what hell would be like. As a frightened youth, he desired salvation. In August of his senior year in high school, his grandfather Madison went to be with the Lord. At the funeral, his Uncle Dan challenged, someone to pick up the torch and carry on. Dr. Madison accepted this challenge and committed himself to the Lord. Being sensitive to God's leading, he attended Bible College. In 1945, he met and married Florence Ross who was a navy cadet nurse. Then in 1947, he began the Missionary-Pastors course and the Missionary Aviation course at Moody Bible Institute only six weeks after their daughter Ioanne was born. Their second daughter Ruth was born in 1949. In August 1950 Dr. Madison completed his studies at Moody Bible Institute. Three months later he accepted a call to a church planting ministry in a rural area east of Colorado Springs Colorado. This church grew to over one hundred people in just a short time. While in Colorado he graduated from Rockmont Bible College Sume Cum Laude and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended Dallas Theological Seminary receiving his Th.M. in 1960 and his Th.D. in 1963. He graduated Sume Cum Laude with his Th.M. degree. While studying at Dallas Theological Seminary he started and pastored the Northwest Bible Church of Fort Worth Texas. He pastored there twelve years prior to being called to Calvary Bible College as President in 1974. His present goals for the school are: growth to 600 or 700 students' development of servants hearts' and Christ-like characteristics. Dr. Madison has been a constant leader in his home and contin- ues to lead Calvary Bible College s family through the guidance ofthe Holy Spirit. Y ' . 1 on , 1 . The Hopeline is a telephone counseling outreach to the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is our desire that God use this work to demonstrate to believers and unbelievers alike that God's work is complete, restoring the soul fPsalm 19:71. During the first four months of our ministry we have been encouraged not only by the surprisingly large numbers of callers, but also by the way in which Cod has enabled us to minister to many of them. We realize that God's primary means of accomplishing His work is through the local church. Therefore, it is not our intention to function as a para-church ministry, but rather to function as an extension of selected fundamental churches in our area. We are grateful for the encouragement of our supporting churches and excited about the opportunities to serve the Lord in this capacity. Please pray with us that we will be able by God's grace, and with His Word, to set the captives free. In His service.
