my Sonia .fdrounvl C K THE CRIER OFFICE The Crier Office, which formerly had oc- cupied room 126 until 1940 when that room was taken over by the Senior Counselor, for a time Was located in 210 and 334. But in 1948, 318 became the permanent Crier Office. ln this room the paper is planned, articles Written, page plans drawn, dummies pasted, and files kept. Mrs. Gwen 1-lultenschmidt, editorial ad- visor of this publication, is assisted by Dick Powers, editor-in-chief, and a staff who have taken Iournalism. THE LITTLE THEATER ln the fall of '49, roorn 249 Was converted into a little theater. The Board of Education decorated the room in grey and rose and the PTA provided stage lights, fireproof curtains and drapes. The Little Theater is now used by English classes to present special projects, such as movies, dramatizations of book reports, and Wire recordings of BeoWu1f . The Drama Club presents numerous plays and the Social Science department offers lectures. ATTENDANCE OFFICE Mr. Elmer Casey, attendance counselor, is in charge of room 140, Where the attendance records of all Calumet students are kept. Miss Todd and Mr. Sietsema, Who have at various times also headed this office, assist in keeping the records and help the truant officer secure better attendance. Students who Work in this office receive service points and a chance to earn a letter. Before this room was organized in 1944, session teachers were solely responsi- ble for the attendance records of their students.
