'GlDl.DESEDVES A sudden hush falls on the chatter of one hundred and fifty girls as they pass into the large darkened room. Each holds an unlighted candle and, forming a circle, looks expectantly at the president. She and the other ofhcers form a part of the circle and the candles which they hold are lighted. As the leader speaks, a tiny flame passes from candle to candle until a circle of light is completed. After a brief time of thought, the girls pass out of the room to the tune of the Girl Reserves' song. This is the Girl Reserves ceremonial. The organization, one of Calumet's finest, meets weekly for a lecture, or a discussion program, on some topic of interest to girls. There are parties, too. which provide wholesome pleasure for the members. l28I Morris. St, Aulwin, Carlson. Suhn BACK ROXV: Newton, Rehnherg, Lin- demann. Knox, Kilty. Sandall, Bloom qu1st.Thiele.
