STUDIES TIQAFFIC tm When the Temulac reporter paid a recent visit to the auto shop he found a class of earnest boys grouped around the president of the Calu- met Safety Council. They were checking the weekly report, issuing theatre passes to the week's safest drivers, making additions to the RESULTS OF CARELESS DRIVING scrap book, and pushing colored tacks into an enlarged graphic map to show the number of auto- mobile accidents that week in the Auburn Park District. Under Mr. John Deegan the Safety Council has developed into a strong, well organized, and efficient agency for the prevention of autor accidents. He is assisted by Larry Blessingtonr, president: William Dering, vice-president: William Winter, treasurer: William Jurascheck and Larry Ostling. secretaries: and Sherman Johnston, photographer of accidents. Among the recent contributions made by the Council to the welfare of Calumet is the compulsory registration system for automobiles and bicycles, which is designed to prevent theft and to solve parking prob- lems. Under way, also, is a plan for providing each owner of a bicycle with insurance against loss. Calumet is proud of its Safety Council. It is making constructive contributions towards the welfare of Calumet and Chicago. In fact it is doing a bang-up job. Nice going, fellows!
