Srvoml Rau'-Snow, Marshals, W'eller, Knierim, Cooper, Lutz, Schmidt, Robertson, Christos, Foster, Heath Frunz' Rau'-Seliroll, Rathmann, Olson, Hassett, Miss Drolsom, Desrosiers, Kuyper, Hubler. Le Petite Alliance Early in the fall semester it was proposed that the French 5 students should have a club in order to acquaint themselves with more French literature, manners, and customs, and make French more interesting. This idea appealed to everyo-ne's fancy and delight and the club was established and christened La Petite Alliance II. The oflicers elected were: Genevieve Lash, president: Earl Hassett, vice-president, Marie Totter, secretaryg Ralph Beck, treasurer. An entertainment committee composed of Evelyn Schroll, Lois Knierim, and Bernice Schmidt arranged delightful programs of French games and plays. In the second semester the oflicers were: Bernice Schmidt, president, joseph O'Rourke, vice-presidentg Dorothy Mcllhany, secretary, Earl Hassett, treasurer. Marie Totter acted as entertainment chairman, assisted by Evelyn Schroll and Lois Knierim. Le Cercle Francais Le Cercle Francais, sponsored by Miss Cornelia Drolsom, is composed of students of French 6, 7, and 8. In September the group gave a tea and a play. The French depart- ment of Calumet, and a teacher and two representatives from each of eight south side schools were invited to attend. An interesting and varied program was given by differ- ent members at each aifair. The officers for the fall semester were: Jean Kennick, president, NVilliam Rose, vice- president, Evelyn jorgenson, secretaryg Robert Graham, treasurer. Fvbrzmry Clam Honor Council The Honor Council The Calumet Honor Council, sponsored by Mrs. La Vnda Armstrong, has about twenty-five members, chosen from the 4A class for their scholarship and good citizen- ship at Calumet. It functions as ri judicial body, trying and disciplining students who break school laws. Botany Club The Botany Club and Le Cercle Francais cooperated to entertain their members by a combined tea and botany exhibit. A-nother activity of the Botany Club was the annual rose sale, which occurred on April 11. The proceeds of this sale are used to beautify the school grounds. The club also had a Fall Flower and Garden Show and a Narcissus and Poinsettia Display. The officers were: Mr. Willis E. Tower, honorary president, Stanley Bonzell, presi- dentg Genevieve Miller, vice-president, Carmen Rivadeira, secretary, Clifford Jensen, treasurer, and Miss Ruby Fremont, sponsor. Science Club The purpose of the Science Club, which all E and Su science students are eligible to join, is to promote a better understanding of all forms and branches of science. NVith this aim in mi-nd the club has included in its program discussions, movies, and slides on various scientiiic subjects, particularly on geology. The members also took field trips to the following places: the Field Museum. the Rosenwald Industrial Museum, the Indiana States Dunes, and the University of Chicago. The oiiicers for the spring semester were: Adele Exner, president, Wfilliam Shipley, vice-president, Grace Suhr, secretary, and Constance Rand, treasurer.
