NHS LIGHTS THE WA Y The National Honor Society held its annual banquet for its new mem- bers in honor of their achievements through tout the year. Twenty new members were accepted into the or- ganization, including fourteen fresh- men. Part of the banquet was the traditional lighting of the candles to symbolize the light of knowledge. To become a member of NHS, a student needs to achieve and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Ms. Yatsko welcomes students and par- ents to the 1 989 induction of new NHS members. Michelle Ferguson sings “One Moment in Time” for the new members. A look at the new NHS mem- bers with their burning candles of knowledge. MAKE IT LAST FOREVER Turnabout is the traditional Christmas dance. It has been held annually since 1969. This year’s turnabout was sponsored by the band boosters. Many students enjoyed dancing to music provided by an area DJ. The theme for turnabout, “Make It Last Forever,” was ap- propriate as many students did not want to leave. The traditional dance is the girl ' s opportunity to ask the boy to the dance, thus the name “Turnabout.” a. Karen Harper enjoys her dance with John Wood.
