BASKETBALL SPIRIT WEEK Basketball spirit week was used to get the boys’ bas- ketball team prepared for sectional play. All the students and faculty participated in the daily themes. The biggest day was red and white day on the day o f the first sectional game. At the usual pep sesson, each class was assigned a skit to perform. The cheerleaders and pom pon girls gave spirit fever to all. Mr. Traicoff came onto stage with his team and gave a very uplifting pep talk. STOMP THE MUSTANGS a. Mike Grant and Benjamin Woods show off their enthusiasm by participating in Red and White day during basketball sectionals, b. Need any toilet paper? Mr. Traicoffs room would be the place to go during basetball sectionals, c. Don Peters displays his work of art in hopes of firing up the Warriors for a victory, d. HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK Homecoming spirit week started with a blast. Monday was sweat- shirt and t-shirt day, Tuesday was shorts day, Wednesday was hat day, Thursday was 50’s-60’s day, and Friday was Red and White day. Many students participated in the “Level the Devils” spirit week. To help everyone catch the spirit of the homecoming football game, the drama class performed a re- view. The review included skits about how great it is to be a War- rior fan. Coach Voris, dressed in full Indian headdress, accompa- nied his team on stage and in- spired the student body with his pep talk. Thursday also included a pow- der puff football game. The senior and sophomore girls proved to be the victors in the entertaining af- ternoon game. A few football players reverse rolls with the cheerleaders during the powder puff game. Gina Valentine shows her spirit during 50’s-60’s day. Gina Sullivan (34) is stopped by an opponent as Angela Norman tries to throw a block. HOMECOMING 1988: LEVEL THE DEVILS On Thursday afternoon the girls at CHS played the annual Powder Puff football game. The contest pitted the freshmen and juniors against the soph- omores and seniors. The game was close from the start; however, by the end of the game the sophomores and seniors were victorious. The drama class performed the tra- ditional Homecoming Review, which included skits from Satur- day Night Live to PeeWee Herman. Mr. Voris came onto stage dressed in full Indian head- dress to introduce his team and to get the crowd fired up for the big game. Game time arrived and the an- nouncements of the 1988 Home- coming Queen and King. Dianne Bogdan was announced 1988 Homecoming Queen, and she commmented, “I was pleasantly surprised!” Homecoming King honors went to George Montgom- ery, who stated, “It’s a good ex- perience.” 8 HOMECOMING
