The 1987-8 Swim Team showed much improvement over previous years. They ended their season with a 5-7 record. Throughout the season the girls broke many records — Malin Gunnarson broke three records: the 200 yd. freestyle, 200 yd. medley, and the 100 yd. freestyle. Karen McBride broke two records: the one meter spring board diving — 6 dives, and a record with eleven dives. Stacy Taylor broke the sophomore record in the 100 yd. breaststroke. Malin Gunnarson, Angela Norman, and Linda Day broke the 200 yd. Medley Relay record. Malin Gunnarson, Angela Norman, Shannon Robinson, and Linda Day broke the 400 yd. Freestyle Relay record. The other record to be broken was the freshman 400 yd. Freestyle Relay Team consisting of Cindi Jackson, Laurie Noeson, Kim Holmes, and Melissa Moravec.
