“Getting there” is Sometimes Half the Fun People move around in so many ways. There are trains, planes, buses, and cars. A taxi cab will take you almost anywhere and an ocean cruising ship could bring romance into your life. Some people use the old fashioned means of transportation: jog- ging, running, or walking in a mad hurry to get ... somewhere. Why do people have this preoccupation with travel? Perhaps it is the exhileration of meeting new people, or maybe seeing new places. Well, in any case, at Calumet we have a place to relax and enjoy while travel- ing through life. Every student is special and has his her own needs. At Calumet the school board, administrators, teachers, and staff members work to pro- vide a valuable educational experience for students. Learning about life is a big responsibility, CHS gives stuaents the chance for ex- perience. Programs for on- the-job training are offered in the health, industrial, and business fields. Learning can be an adven- ture with CHS’s curriculum offered in commercial, voca- tional, and academic areas. Curriculum in the academic area provides an abundance of choices. Come be a part in this journey and you will ex- perience entertainment. A variety of events throughout the school season were presented by the Drama Department, and art classes provided students with an education in “the finer things.” Vocational programs taught wood and metal working. Come and enjoy recrea- tion with traditional team sports, football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Also discover life sports like tennis and golf. Plunge into the crystal clear depths of CHS’ pool. If you choose Club Met you too can be a part of organized activities spon- sored by groups.
