‘J « no cuts in Rumbling of stomachs is an experience all CHSers felt everyday as the lunch hours ar- rived. CHSers rushed to their lockers, disposed of their books and headed toward the lunch room. The clattering of dishes, bumping and thumping of the snack machine, the hustling about and the constant chatter of Calumet students filled the cafeteria. Lunch time was a social time for the students. Those short thirty minutes gave CHSers time to unwind and forget about their schoolwork. During both lunch hours the concession and candy stands were open. Students could buy a soft drink to accompany their lunch, and purchase candy sold by Honor Society. Other activities during lunch hours were bake sales, spon- sored by various classes and clubs, and the selling of tickets to all Calumet athletic games. A: CHSe rs stand in line to buy soft drinks dur- ing lunch hour. B: Senior Pete Marinkovic adds more flavor to his hotdog at the condiments table. C: During the first lunch hour.
