Making the grade at CHS Forty students were inducted into the Calumet chapter of the Honor Soci- ety on May 29. The candlelight ceremony was held in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Organization officers gave speeches at the program. Quill and Scroll held their honors banquet on April 30 at San Remo. Cherill Baize, sophomore, was named “Most Valuable Staffer” by the Hammond Times.” Pat- rick Ard was named “Most Contributing Newspaper Staff Member,” and Lisa Parsons, sophomore, received “Most Contributing Yearbook Staff Member.” Top: Inductees hold candles during the Honor Society ceremony held in the audi- torium. Classes don greasepaint A evening of one act plays was presented on April 3 and 4 by the CHS Drama Department. All participants were enrolled in drama classes at Calumet. The program consisted of three plays entitled, “The Bad, The Worse, and The Broccoli,” “The Monkey’s Paw” and “The Incredible Bulk of Bikini Beach.” Performances were held in the school auditorium. Mr. Paul Borlick, class instructor, served as director of the productions. Top: Characters listen to Chad Planer, jun- ior, (Sgt. Major Morris) who explains the mystery of the Monkey’s Paw. Below: Jeff Morton, junior, (Johnny) tries to bribe junior Dale Lane (the judge) while Peggy Krejci (Ruby Diamond) watches.
