All in all this year kept every one of us really busy. Finally the long awaited year arrived. On August 31, 1953, we registered for our last long year of high school. We were called seniors and were very proud to possess this title. Victor Hageman did not return this year so we ended with a class of thirty-three strong. H. S. to become strong and faithful students. we were glad after initiation was over and we were really members of the school body. We were also given the privilege of entertaining the high school at a valentine party. During this year we lost one classmate, Christine Phillips. Thirty-three students returned to school in the fall of '52. It was on the third of September to be exact. It was surely great to be called sopho- mores and to top it all off we had the opportunity to give a fall party at which we had the chance to give the freshmen a taste of initiation. During the course of this year Gail Tollefson decided to finish high school in a different state. We juniors by now had discovered that we did not know everything. so on August 31, 1953, we began our third year high. This year brought several new students including Kyran Lutkenhaus, Gilbert Buchheit, Carl Schupanitz, Anna Mae Thuente, Harlan Mikota, Helen wenthold, Verda Lensing, Margaret Schneberger, Janet Schuler, and Alyce Kuennen. Just to display our talents, we presented the Junior Class play, 'The Tangled Yarn' which was lots of fun and a big suc- cess. We also sponsored the Junior-Senior banquet. - i I u i -1 2 - f E -VS Q- f . .' - f , , -' +- - -, Fel fii ' f -me ' 1 - ii Y - V 1- , A as' , 1 1 J. 5 Do A Y Q F L A T Q' 1 . 1325 5 J nf- . 5 v' it t . Lien, Secretary, R Lechtenberg, Treasurer, On the third day of September, 1952, thirty two innocent little people en tered the doors of Calmar High for the first time. It was then told to us we would have to go through that torture of initiation, but as you can see we all survived it and were given the name of full fledged freshmen of Calmar High S0h00l. One accomplishment during the year was that we were given the privilege cfentertaining the faculty and student body at a Valentine Party August 31, 1953, found us back at C H S. and now we were given the great name of Sophomores We are sorry to say that this year we lost two members, namely, Robyn Hove and Anita Kleve. This year we gained revenge by sponsoring the initiation party. ZW- rn uv:--1-----, -v --1---, v- -.---. -- -- .... . V - e e e e e I 0 0 e 0 0 . O I1 e e O . Q FPQIQ QC 9 0 ' . .
