W 5 XIX K , D. Wangsness, Treasurerg R. Elsbernd, President F. Bucheit, Secretary, S. Sluka, Vice-President The Senior Class of 1951 found its origin in the fall of l9U,7. At this time a large class of 25 members first made its bid for recognition as freshmen of Calmar High. After the semester we lost Robert Eppens. By the completion of the year we had lost another member, Norma Taylor, while we gained Darlyne Nesvik. As we journeyed along, the fall of l9h8 found us returning to C. H. S. as knowledge seeking sophomores. We regretted the loss of three members, Madonna Beckman, Joan Barr, and Darlyne Nesvik. September of l9h9 found us,now juniors, back again at Calmar with the pros- pect of being proud seniors the following year. We increased our enrollment by eight, namely, Robert Eppens, Roger Elsbernd, Robert Harold, John Hruska, Jo Ann Etteldorf, Lillian Lensing, Helen Buchheit, and Dorothy Snyder. The beginning of the second semester found our class membership increased to 29 by the coming of Mildred Lunde. At last, in the autumn of 1950, our hopes were reached. We had finally be- come seniors, but before we realized it, the year came to an end with each of us exhibiting a diploma. Yes, four long years in retrospect seem to have been short --the astounding change from freshman to senior year. Let us look back and see two of the highlights of our high school life, namely . . .
