Class Will We, the Senior Class of I954, the town of Callender, the county of Webster, and the state of Iowa, being withoutiloubt of sane mind and good judgment do hereby legally declare this our last will and testament. To Mr. Lage, we bequeath our love for Physics. To Mrs. Dillmuth, we will all of our quiet study periods. To Mrs. Johnson, the girls leave all the extra bound button holes they made, the boys leave a pair of pliers to open stuck paint bottles. To Mrs. Corrigan, we leave the right to burn all English Literature books. To Mr. Kersbergen, we bequeath our willingness to study. To Mr. Jensen, we leave a wish for an automatic Bell System To Henry Mosel, we leave the right to visit the Juniors in the Home Ec. room during class time next year. To the Cooks, we leave our small appetites. To Jerry Mobley, Bernadeen leaves her dancing ability. To Paul Ness, Donald leaves his crew cut. To Gary Gabrielson, Duane wills the effectiveness of his left arm in many ways. To Sandra Hayek, Velma wills her white bucks and sparkling eyes. To Maurine Rusnak, Marlene Stewart leaves her ability to stay home at night. To Dean Haatvedt, Paul leaves a pocket comb. To Carol Hanson, Mary Jo leaves her driving ability. To Quinton Pearson, Carl wills his curly hair. To Kay Lowry, Maxine wills her way of sneezing. To Donna Dey, Mary leaves her reserve of iokes she tells in the lunch room. To Larry Foote, Roger leaves his witty remarks. To Janice Lowery, Myrna wills her giggles and to Hazel Bowers she leaves her freckles. To Mary Lou Dey, Marlene Spirek leaves her shortness. To Bobby H., Richard leaves his way with the girls. To Judy Pearson, Shirley wills her ability to write letters. To Norma Slagle, Edwin Phillips leaves all of his schoolbooks. 20

Edwin Phillips is a famous speed driver, racing midget autos on the salt beaches ofthe Great Salt Lake. His biggest thrill is racing in the Memorial Day speed race in Indianapolis. Shirley Loehr became a private secretary in a large corporation. She recently received a promotion, that of being the boss' wife. Myma Mobley is a Sergeant in the Women's Air Corp. She requested and obtained permission to train women at our station in Fairbanks, Alaska. Maxine Means became a schoolteacher and, after teaching a few years in Califomia, is now continuing her career in the Hawaiian Islands. Class Poem We, the Senior Class of l954, Such was never known before Are leaving this place far behind, With many memories on our mind. The fun of our parties made everyone laugh, But that was only the better-half. The studies burdened our shoulders with care But we all made it, saying a prayer. 'Dear friends and school, we're leaving you With tears in our eyes and saying adieu. Everyone is waving a fond good-bye To the halls of dear old Callender High.
