VICE-VERSA On Ihe nighf of February Illh Ihe girls were in Iheir elemenf, for Ihey had Ihe iob of asking land paying forl Iheir dafes +o lhe GAA Vice-Versa dance. The band of Don Meehan furnished music for I'he couples' dancing. Girls had Ihe pleasure of buying boufonnieres and piclures for Ihe boys Io give Ihe semi- Formal dance 'rhe finishing fouch. The decoralions Iwhich had been Izepl' a guarded secrel :zrior +o Ihe dancel were a surprise 'Io all. On 'rhe side Nall of I'he gym was a big red and while hearl which nany of fhe couples adorned wilh +heir names: +he cenler- :niece was a carl decorafed in red and while hearls, wilh Ihe same color crepe paper around fhe wheels and hifch. This was surrounded by dancers who were enioying Ihe :unning decora+ions. In one corner of fhe gym was an evergreen Iree lfor shadel. Relireshmenls served by fhe GAA were punch and zoolcies, which were much enjoyed. ACTIVITIES li'l'TW ' BARN DANCE On February 25I'h fhe FFA sfaged Iheir annual Bar Dance in 'Ihe big gym of CHS. Girls dressed in bouffar skirls, and boys in Levi's, came from all around fo danc in fhe wesfern gym. Go wesl, young man! would have been a good lhem for Ihe dance, iudging from lhe decoralions. One wa was covered wilh dangerous-loolring rifles, while fenc posfs were laden wifh beauliful saddles. The cenlerpiece was a real covered wagon complet wifh wafer barrels, paraphenalia, and people Iimifalions inside. This relic had fo be 'Ialcen aparl before if coulm be dragged info Ihe gym, and 'rhen re-assembled, oncr inside, by Ihe hardy Fulure Farmers. Bur all Iheir worl was no+ in vain, for 'Ihe elzfecl' was Iruly unique. Music was recorded and refreshmenfs of punch an: coolcies were served.

The gym wa crowded wilh s'ruden'Is from Calisloga and Ihe surround ing +erriI'ory who had come 'ro sporr 'Iheir Levi's and whirl shirls. The half of Ihe gym Ihar was decorafed wilh sirand of blue and while crepe paper gave Ihe effecf of a big I'enI' overhead. From Ihe baske? hung a dummy wearing a pair of size 60 I.evi's and a huge whife shirr. Cokes were sold and cookies served +o Ihe sI'uden'I' who were, afferwards, glad +hey had aHended 'flu Dungaree Hop. ACTIVITIES CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY George Boyadiielif was 'rhe firsl' fo Iry Io break Ihe ipanish Classes' Pinala by barring abou+ wildly wi+h a Iick. He succeeded in making Ihe firsi Iear, affer which mad scramble occurred and everybody came up wi+h ome candy. The PinaI'a's nex'I' enemy was Lynne Buller, rho made Ihe second rip and broughr down anofher hower of candy. The Spanish sfudenls wenl' away full and happy. The CHS band pu? on Iheir annual Chrislmas Concerr nn December I5Ih 'fo a large audience, considering +he Iownpour of rain. II' was 'rhe firsf showing of Ihe band's 1ew uniforms and an exceIIen'I performance. During sevenrh and eigh'I'h periods on December Ibfh, Ihe sophomores gave Ihe school Iheir usual Chrisfmas Parry. Each class banded +oge+her unlil fhe jazz music s'rarI'ed. Then all non-par'Iicipan+s sfepped back and 'Ihe s'fuden+s iiggecl and boppecl. The Sophomores served ice cream and cookies and pu'I on a very good parfy. ,S .5 s
