CWU dominated the game except for the opening minutes as the Tritons scored first. Wayne Clark continued his pin- point passing as he hit on 8 of 16 for 172 yards. His chief targets were Eric Widmark and All- Coast Honorable Mention jim Antl, each who took in three. Steve Minaldi continued boom- ing punts for long yardage with three for an average of 44.7 yards per punt. In order for the quarterback to have a good year, he needs time to throw the ball. Mike Bielman had a good day at running back, picking up more than 100 yards. Regan CWU, HUMECOMING WITH SAC STATE 14-26, END SEASON RECURD 3-6 Meeting a bowl-bound team for your homecoming game proved to be an unfortunate way for Western to end their season as they dropped a 26-14 decision to Sacramento State. The Hor- nets went on to face Grambling in the junior Rose Bowl. Line- backer Allan Fields had a big day, intercepting two passes and filling the gaps in the Western defensive line. Cary Dalton Michael Leo Rhodes Dante Peter Scarnecchia showed why he was a first team District III pick with excellent blocking on the offensive line. Several records were set in this game by Wayne Clark who lofted 305 passes for 14 touch- downs and 2079 yards. Senior end jim Antl also ended his career at CWU with his name on the recordbook with 43 catches for 847 yards. Eric Widmark broke into the open for this one in the Sac State game but unseen defenders soon con verged upon him.
