The University Boasts A rich and diverse blend of students CSUS’s student enrollment has it’s roots in nearly every segment of the community, and is more reflective of those segments than many other colleges. The University setting provides students from all backgrounds with a rare opportunity to interact with each other intellectually, culturally and socially in a learning environment. Almost 100 nations are represented in the University’s international student enrollment. Likewise a number of CSUS students enroll at cooperating overseas universities during their upper division and graduate years, while receiving credit toward degree objectives. The University is making a renewed attempt to attract and retain students from certain ethnic minority and other backgrounds which are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. This “educational equity’’ effort involves not only those offices traditionally involved, including Student Affirmative Action, Educational Opportunity a ; ” Program and the Minority Engineering Program, but the entire campus community. CSUS draws students from all age groups. While the average student age remains in the mid-20’s, over ninety percent of the some 1500 new freshmen each year are nineteen years of age or younger. The growing number of over “‘thirty’’ and over “sixty”? students enrolling at CSUS has increased. Reentry students are served through the PASAR program.
