1973 1973 was the year in which national and international politics were in the news: immediately after Nixon’s swearing in, Lyndon Johnson died, followed in February by the opening of the Watergate investigations and the seizing of Wounded Knee by the American Indians. April brought the nation-wide meat boycott, and the launching of Skylab, the orbiting space station.
