ELECTIONS . . . had a mighty big iob this year. it was up to Betty to govern the policies ot all student body, class and special elections as well as to check the qualifications of candidates for otiice before granting petitions to circulate to individuals or their sponsors. You probably saw Betty and some of her helpers busy during the Freshmen Class Election in the tall, the Homecoming or Casaba Queen Contest, or the Class and Student Body Election this spring. FINE ARTS . . . was also kept busy this year-in fact, it became necessary to appoint an assistant to help ease the load. Both Bob and Jim worked hard to stimulate the students of SSC in drama, art and music. Drama offered two maior productions this year, each time seeking student participation. Visual art activities at SSC also provided opportunities in the field of fine and commercial art. Numerous exhibitions of student work were highlighted by the yearly exhibit presented to the general public. A fine music pro- gram which included the Little Symphony, Concert Band and Chorus added to the importance of music here at SSC. Christmas programs and Spring Concerts by the Band and Chorus and faculty recitals at the Crocker Art Gallery added sparkle to the full fine arts program. 26 l
