California Student Teachers Association The C. S. T. A. is the junior branch of the California Teachers Association. Some of the aims of the group are to stimulate the high- est ideals of professional ethics, to improve educational services in general, to foster active cooperation between training institutions and their student groups and to develop professional attitudes among student teachers. Sacramento State College is one of thirty-one teacher-training institutions belonging to the state-wide organization. Membership for the state exceeds 3,000, with our school contributing 65 members. Dr. Charles Howard is our faculty sponsor. The Biological Association of the Sacramento State College The Biological Associaton of the Sacramento State College, or better known to the students as B. A. S. S., is one of the oldest clubs on the campus. It was organized in January, 1949, by several of the State students majoring in Biological Science. Membership is open to students of both colleges, who have taken at least one three unit biology course. The objectives of the club are both academic as well as social. The first objective is to protect the flora and fauna of our country. The second objective is to pro- mote the knowledge and understanding of Biological Sciences.
