Student Council The Student Council completed a successful year of operations in 1949-50 with the inclusion of a new office. A “Commissioner of Fine Arts’’ was added to the commissions of student government, student cooperatives, athletics, and publications. The duties of the various commissioners operating in their respective departments include athletic and rally activities, drama and mu- ‘ sic department planning and laison work, publicity and publications, planning for student cooperatives, and student body election sup- ervising. These councilmen selected the official rings, planned the very successful jamboree, and budgeted the monies from the $4,800 student body fund to the various studeni activities. Editor-in-Chief Buzz Chub The Buzz Club, Sacramento State's pep and rally organization has become one of the most active organizations on the campus. Organized in the fall of 1948 for the purpose of promoting student support for State’s varsity teams through the media of providing rooting sections and planning and presenting rallies, it has carried out its purpose throughout this year with numerous rallies to encour- age student enthusiam. Members of the Buzz Club can be identified by their white “V’ neckline sweaters, with a representative green and gold block 'S” surmounted by a hornet on them.
