RESOLVED: A more complere person to person program he organized for the purpose of relating incoming fresh- men, transfers, and independents, and finally, that an Independent League he organized comparable to that of the fraternal organization. RESOLVED: Student government should concern itself with: curriculum changes, LBSC name change, library facilities, naming of campus buildings, and assimilation of foreign students. RESOLVED; LBSC needs to project an even better community image than it has in the past. RESOLVED: The possible transforma- tion of the Council of Presidents into a Student Congress. RESOLVED: With teaching excellence in mind, there should be a continuous evaluation of teaching methods by the students through a student committee for the ultimate benefit of both teacher and his student. RESOLVED: That it is the chief func- tion of college to prepare students through liberal arts and vocational ed- ucation to fulfill their definite roles in society. RESOLVED: That California's political organizations should be given the priv- ilege of presenting speakers on State College campuses. College Reviewed by Our College in Society, I X 2 Leadership Conference's guiding topic, was reviewed in its three dimensions — cultural, academic, and religious. Friday night a panel discussion presented the subject The Role of the Liberal Arts College. Discussing the liberal education school vs. the trade school were Dr. Elizabeth Kazan, bio-chemistry; Dean Raymond E. Lindgrcn; Dr. Ronald C. Foote. English, and Dr. ilerluf P. Nielsen. Engineering. Audience pros and cons carried this question late into the night. Each of the twelve discussion groups presented its resolution to the Sunday general assembly wherein each committee's product was reviewed and voted on.
