Editor OUTSTANDING EVENT Probably the outstanding thing done by the group was the trip to San Francisco, where Alpha Mu Gamma was guest ofthe Theta chapter of San Francisco State Col- lege. The two chapters enjoyed many social events together April l4, l5, and l6. ARAC I-I IXI EANS Founded at Chico State College in 1932 Purpose: To bring about more interest in the Held of art at Chico State, and to main- tain a closer relation between those students having the same interests. CALENDAR OF EVENTS March: Dinner meeting for prospective members. Dinner meeting and initia- tion. April 14, 15, 16: Trip to San Francisco and World's Fair to see art exhibits and visit art schools. May 13: Trip to art center in Sacramento. OUTSTANDING EVENT The major event on the Arachneans' calendar this year Was a three-day field trip to San Francisco and the World's Fair. Mrs. Mavis Todd Brown, advisor, accom- panied the group. She was able to explain about many of the points of interest to the group. One day was spent at the Fair. A good part of this day was spent in the Building of Fine Arts. Other points were also given attention by individual members of the organization. Included were visits to the art galleries of San Francisco and the leading art schools in the bay region. ALPHA PSI OMECA Founded at Chico State College October 1926 f 3 34 Purpose: To further interest in the art of drama and in the theater as an art. CALENDAR OF EVENTS October 28: Home-Coming Breakfast. October 28: Play, Craig's Wife. May 19-20: Far Western Drama Confer- ence, including plays by Arcata and Chico schools. Monthly meetings were held by the group the first Sunday in each month. OUTSTANDING EVENT The Par Western Conference of Alpha Psi Omega and Delta Psi Omega casts was the outstanding event of this year's activi- ties. It was held May l9 and 20 and in- cluded Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and California. John Laurence Seymour of Sacramento Junior College was the guest speaker. His topic Was Current Successes on the New York Stage. Hamlet was presented by our drama department on the 19th and Her Master's Voice by Clare Kummer was offered by Humboldt State College on the 20th. The convention was climaxed by a colorful cos- tume ball given in Memorial Hall.
