CHICO 672, PACIFIC 62M Turning from home pastures for the first time, the Cardinals seemed to come to life and dumped the College of Pacific in a close meet. The relay tea-rn of Doug Whited, Don Davis, Herman Kostiz, and Bob Reams did the trick. Many first places were taken by Chico, but shortage of second and third placers narrowed the victory. Ernie King took a Hrst in the high hurdles for the first time this year. CHICO 72, UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA 59 Against the weak University of Nevada track team, Chico looked like a champ. Even here the Wildcats turned in few top-notch performances, although they Won most of the first places. Sam Wolf surprised in this meet with a second in the HERMAN KOSTI Z discus, throwing the platter 124 feet. Doug!Whited won firsts in both of his events, the 220 lows and the 440. AGC-IES 63M,C1-IICO 61M, U. OF N. 33 With the relay deciding the meet, the California Aggies nosed out Chico State in the tuneup meet before the F. W. C. Finals at Stockton. The Uni- versity of Nevada entered a team, but did not show much. Best performances were credited to Bob Reams, Don Davis, Herman Kostiz, and Harry Vonasek. After getting shut out in the 100, Reams came back to turn a fast flight of low sticks in 324.6 for a nrst place. Davis ran a beautiful 220 to nip Rhoades of the Aggies in :22 Hat. F. W. C.
