OUTSTANDING EVENT The foremost undertaking of Pi Epsilon Sigma during its first semester was a trip to the Golden Gate Exposition. The dele- gates spent the week-end of the Easter vaca- tion in the Fair city. Trips to the science and engineering exhibits were included. The events were opened with a serious and impressive initiation ceremony for the incoming pledges. The group then adjourned to the main dining room for the guest talks. Dr. Aymer J. Hamilton was the speaker for the fall meeting. In the spring Dr. Floyd Caldwell gave the main speech, which was received warmly. The new members initiated at the fall ceremony were: Myron Ayers, Loraine Bass, Edith Berriman, Rosemma Ahlborn, Frank Bennett, Helen Ganevari, Helen Cay- wood, Inez Culbertson, Warren De Ber- nardi, Doyle Bailey, Elizabeth Edson, Al Schlueter. Dolores Dillon, Norma Jaekel, Harriet Hill, Betty Williams, James Wil- son. and Evelyn Zemel. Spring initiates were: Mary Kay Steffen, Henry Kivlahan, Mary Lena Zamboni, Merle Kusel, Jeanne Gallatin, Alta Wageman, Mrs. Grace West, Richard Nunes, and Mary Frances Davis. November: Home economics teachers' tea during Institute. Talk by Mrs. Parsons, Child Delinquency. February: Talk by Mrs. Larson, Trends in Home Economics. Initiation break- fast. March: Talk by Miss Vivian Kerr, Eu- ' genicsf' Founders' Day breakfast. April: Mothers' tea. May: Pioneer Day lunch. Senior Farewell, with buffet supper. OUTSTANDING EVENT During the Teachers' Institute, Tri- Epsilon entertained home economics teach- ers at tea. Sixty were served. Those pre- siding Were Mrs. Gay Schreiter and Mrs. Ruth Larson. The spacious rooms of the Bidwell Hall were decorated in autumn col- ors. Centering the tea table was a lovely arrangement of crystal ball and tapering candles.
