The team finished unofficially in sixth place in Division I. gzonai' ' ' , sior't II Coa 12h f Sam Barnett, the Western Regional Tournament's Most Valuable Player, led the C53 basketball team to first place honors in both the NCAA Division II Western Regional Tournament and Western Quarter Finals, both held in Bakersfield, and to Springfield, Massa ch usetts, where they captured fourth place in the NCAA Division II Championships. This year, CSB's track men outdid themselves by capturing their first CCAA conference titIe, defeating Cal State Northridge by one pointin 6th mace Ken Haney 1500 Meter the decisive mile relay. They were also ranked among the top ten 6th Place Phil Roberts Triple jump teams at CSU Sacramen to in the NCAA Division II Nationals.
