Students will complete registration at this time by seeming course cards, verify- ing student data information and paying fees. REGISTRATION Registration for the Winter Quarter will take place on Monday, January 4, according to the priority schedule on the next page. The general procedures for registration are listed below for your convenience. More complete information is included in the revised Winter Class Schedule which will be available beginning Wednes- day, December 16 in the College Bookstore. 14 BASKETBALL The first athletic event involv- ing California State College students will take place Thursday, November 19, at 4:00 p.m. When the Roadrunner hoopsters take on the powerful Shafter High School varsity at Shafter. Be sure to attend this event so you can tell your grand- children that you were on hand at the beginning of a dynasty. Beep Beep! BASKETBALL Don,t forget the Faculty1Staff vs. Student Basketball game Friday night, J anuary 22, 1971 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Gym. PETER FORD FUND The Peter Ford Fund Benefit will be presented Tuesday, March 2 in the Red Square. The choir will perform a few selections and Mike Davis will solo. The Benefit is being sponsored by the Draft Information and the Fine Arts Depart- ment to help the Fords defray medical and funeral costs. THAN m. SKI CLUB Ski Club will meet Wednes- day, December 16 at 12:00 to discuss the trip to Mammoth over Christmas Holidays. Prepare to spend your New Yearts Eve in the snow! EQUESTRIAN CLUB The Equestrian Club made a fine showing in the Veteraxfs Day Parade down Chester Avenue. They, along with the marching band, were the first official representation from Cal State, Bakersfield. 33 watching the signs along the way 34 blue 85 gold MASCOTlCOLORS The first election for mascot and colors was held Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. A list of the top five mascots and color combinations will be posted on the bulletin board of Student Services. The first run off election will be held on Tues- day, Nov. 3. Voting will be held only that day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.111. Those who will not normally be coming on Tuesday may pick up an absentee ballot and vote on Monday in the Activities Office. FLASH! 428 people voted Tuesday. beep beep! WEDNESDAY LECTURE SERIES This weelfs lecture will be by Robert Hunt. Sounds from Bob DylarW will be heard coming from LB 100 beginning at 12:10. General Education 150, a fresh- man-sponsored course, takes place every Wednesday from 12:10- 1:00. Discussion groups meet from 1:10-2:00. Join in this Wednes- day! 36 CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE: The proposed constitution and student body fees were defeated in the election Wednesday, March 3. The results were: Constitution: yes 112 no 132 Membership fees: yes 68 no 1 75 should there be some form of student government? yes 198 no 44 should there be membership fees? yes 95 no 125 37 S TUDENT LOUNGE Looking for a comfortable place to study or relax? The lounge in the lobby of the Student Services Building is for the use of the students, faculty, and staff. Dontt let all those comfortable couches and chairs go to waste! talking it Over CHORUS Great sounds have been heard coming from LB 100 around noon. Dr. Armand Vorce conducts a musi- cal group with intensity, concentration, and wit. His repertoire includes classical, sacred, contemporary, and folk music. The Chorus meets Mondays from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Chorus may still be taken for credit. Come Friday, December 4, for tree trimming festivities along with popcorn popping. 12:00-3200 p.m. Cookies will be served. CHRISTMAS PAGEANT A Christmas tree, donated by the faculty and staff, will be officially lighted by Dr. Romberg on Wed- nesday, December 9, at 12:60 in the Courtyard. The Cal State Chorus will sing carols from around the world in addition to singing traditional carols.
