FOOTBALL The 1947 football season was fairly successful for the CSD gridders The Foothills came from three stiaight defeats to smear all opposition ln their last two outmgs Though thew play ed superblx in the tint three games the Foothills lacked the scorlng punch that makes a winning team Despite all their hard luck the Foothills held their opponents to respectable scores and It can be said that the 1944 squad u ts one of the strongest teams to wear the orange and black in recent yeaxs No non conference games were booked this season Following 1 a short summary of the games CSD 6 October 10 Emery 19 great East Bay rivals from Emeryxllle CSD 6 Octobei 17 Ln ermore 13 Though falling short of tl elr xovs to um the Foothills play ed one of their best games in losing to Ln ermore CSD 0 October 24 Amador 18 It was any body s game but ewervthlng Went wrong for the Foothills and when the smoke had finallx cleared the Foothills were heading home on the short end of an 18 0 score CSD 25 October 31 San Ramon 6 Still red in the face over then poor shovung at Pleasanton the determined Foothills gained back their prestige by running ox er a light but fast wolf pack from San Ramon H1 CSD 44 Nox ember 7 Llbertx 19 The Foothills finally broke the imx ovel Libex ty bw handing the Lions a terrlfic pastlng for the Foothills first mn ox er the Brentwood team in almost a decade Y Y ' l 41 1 . v n ' 7 , . ml I .l S, .
