THE FOOTHILLS FLAME 1-9-3-9 GIRLS' SELF - GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION The Girls' Self-Government Association of Durham Hall is now in its third year of existence. It was organized in January, 193 7. It has been growing steadily under the able presidency of Pauline Schneider. Its purpose is to teach the girls the value of discipline and self-reliance and to form a happy family circle in Durham Hall. Because of some changes that have been made in the constitution during the past year, the association has been greatly strengthened. It holds meet- ings twice a month. The House Council composed of officers and proctors meets every week to discuss the problems that arise in Durham Hall. The proctors are chosen by the housemothers. Their term of office is six weeks. The term of office of the elective oflicers is one year. Regularly the housemothers give delightful entertainments for the of- ficers and proctors in recognition of their faithful performance of duties. O OFFICERS Pauline Schneider . , - ,.
