Williams entered the United States nav} in September 1966 and receixed his basic training at the naval Training Center. San Diego. California. Following Recruit Training, he report- ed to the Quided Missile School. Mare Is- land. Vallejo. California. There he received training in Tire Control A and C schools. After receiving a navy enlisted code for Talos Missile Test Technician, he reported for duly at the naval Weapons Sta- tion, Seal Beach, California. Master Chief Williams sened tours ofdutv on board the USSALBAnY(CG-lO). USSCtllCAGO (CG- 11). and USS DALE (CG-19). fie also served two tours of duty at the Combat Systems Technical Schools Command, Mare Island, Vallejo, California as an in- structor for Talos and Terrier Weapon Systems. Master Chief Williams has earned na- val enlisted codes for Talos Missile Testing, Talos Mhil52 Computer Complex. An, SPS- 48CJ-D Search Radar Terrier An, SPG-55B Track Radar Harpoon Weapon System Technician, Terrier Missile Systems Tech- nician, navy Instructor, Senior Enlisted Ad- visor (CM, C). and he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy at newport, Rhode Is- land. In June 1986, he reported to the Com- manding Officer, USS CALIEORniA (CGn- 36) for duty as Command Master Chief. His decorations include the Enlisted Surface Warfare breast insignia, navy Achievement Medal vviith Gold Star. Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, navy E second award. Good Conduct Medal with liv e stars, navy Expeditionary Medal, national De- fense Medal and Sea Seivice Ribbon with four stars. He is married to the former Patricia Ann Ryan of Vallejo. California, where they cur- rently make their home with their two chil- dren, Ryan (5) and Victoria Ann (31. Bunevitch enlisted in the United States Mavy in 1968 and served as an Electronics Technician until his selection to the naval Enlisted Scientific Education Program (MESEP). In 1975, he was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering frotn Purdue University and was subsequently commissioned as a naval Officer. Following his initial nuclear Power Training, Comtriander Bunevitch was assigned to the precommissioningcrewof USS niMITZ (CVn-68), where he served as the M-Division Officer until 1977. Subsequent tours include duties as Staff Instruc- tor, Senior Officer Mateiial Readiness Course; Operations Officer, USS MILLER (Fr- 1091); nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team (Atlantic); Reactor Controls Assis- tant, USS CARL Vinson (CVn-70); and Executive Officer, nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, new York. CotTimander Bunevitch assumed duties as Executive Officer, USS CALIFORniA (CGn-36) in December 1988. Comtnander Bunevitch Is married to the former Margaret Maggie Evans of Sara- sota Springs, new York.
