BOYS NATION Held on the campus of University of Maryland, College Park, Md. H ere the lucky boys receive instruction in the operation of our national gov- ernment. Visits are made to government offices and points of interest in and near Washington, D.C. Delegates to Boys Nation are considered Senators from their respective states and are given the opportunity to engage in legislative practice. Keen competition results in a lively campaign for the election of a President of Boys Nation, Three California Boys have achieved that honor. In 1955 Governor Doug Hopper of Glendale was the first Californian to have held that office. In 1958 Lt. Gov. Dan Lund of Los Angeles and in 1959 Governor Keith Julian of La Mesa were also honored by selection to the high office of President of Boys Nation. From one president to another.
