To the members of the graduating class of 1966, we wish to express our sincere congratulations. We wish for you success in all your adventures. We are not living in a static society. We are living in a society that changes with the pace of time. It is our hope that you will be prepared to accept changes and to take advantage of all opportunities that will be made available to you. There is no darkness but ignorance. Respectfully yours , ZM7Z:f7 ip Robert Carruthers 'l 1 .. L flip e e , 1 , l .. -- - J X,,. jf . Dear Seniors: A , My sincere congratulations to you! I have watched the progress you have made. You have learned much in your academic careers---to read, to spell, to figure and to think. Thes skills will in 1' e but they must be thoroughly mixed with common sense, co y, pride without reJ dice, isdom and understanding. Understanding so broad that it sees the depth of the human heart for so often the lips speak but the heart is silent. Keep before you the words of the late Booker T. Washington of Tuskegee Institute, Cast down your bucket where you are. Cast it down in making friends in every manly way, of all people, of. all the races by whom you are surrounded. Remember always--- ln all thy doings acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path. . Sincerely yours, Miss Tommie C. CAFETORIAL STAFF lt has been said that, Bread is the staff of life. We, the members of the cafeteria staff, consider it an honor to provide support for so many aspiring young minds. We realize that a well balanced diet is essential to physical and mental health. It is our aim to provide every boy and girl at Calhoun High School with the necessary material to build a sound body and mind. In conclusion, we pray that all success and prosperity follow the senior class of 1966, and all personnel of Calhoun High School. .. ,, .4.-..-:,. ' X TRANSPORTATIONAL TAFF The transportational staff of the Calhoun Consolidated High School has played a very vital role in the conveying of students from home to school over the past years. Without the services of this staff, our school simply could not function normally and provide the best possible convenience for the students of our county. To the members of the transportational staff, we give a hearty salute. J. Lewis E. Bryant n R, Kelsey I. Smith M. Clark M. Hall President V. President , Secretary Treasurer J. Allen T. Allen B. Wiggins xi CLASS HISTORY Behold, the goddess of the past has revealed herself to us and the entire world to tell of the past events that have taken place among the Seniors of 1966. With the help of God we boarded our space ship, The Gemini Calhoun Rocket, with a crew of 109 in the year of 1961. We ventured through a space by the name of Education and traveled through the Hemisphere of Knowledge. Through the passing of time, on the Gemini Calhoun Rocket, we have had many p captains serving as advisors in the time of sorrow and despair. By the help of God and our various advisors, we have nearly completed our mission in space. We, the Seniors, have passed through many meteor storms that have often occurred in space. There have also been many rewards and gains in our trip. We have been very successful in various activities, such as sports and fine arts festivals. The prize was not always ours, but the effort and determination was never futile. Our many feats may not have been prodigious, but they have helped us meet many adversities that face one in our dynamic space age. We have lost many on our journey, and now have a crew of only sixty-two. Slowly, the ship nears the close of its mission in space and will eventually return to earth on graduation day with Mr. R. L. James, as captain of the ship. Truly, our mission shall not have been in vain, for each Senior has gained a profound and true courage in meeting any vigil that may present itself in our society.
