LECTURE IN- I know I should be studying But find I ' m sleeping instead I plod away, my head is nodding And I’d rather be in bed The room is quiet, there is no sound, I rouse! — Oh, dear, — Am I the victim That last question was directed round? But lo—behold—my eyes are wide It’s my neighbor on the other side. What ho! Oh no, but that one’s gone, I knew ' twas me all along, Repeat la question Sil vous plait. I’ll answer up without delay. What makes us tick—the middle part? And what is the fate of a school girl ' s heart? Ah me—I yawn and sigh And then I take another try. The hovering cloud has passed along. It wasn’t as bad as I let on, We may pretend its all in vain, That you talk on the same refrain, Yet each and every one of us In spite of grumbles and a lot of fuss, Are grateful for this and every course To the doctors—or other source That brings to us from day to day Knowledge to store, and ponder and weigh.
