The Pups in return toured to Brawley to defeat them by a bigger margin. After having had such tough and competent oppo- sition, the Pups managed to come out on the top. The B's show appreciation and gratitude to a coach who knows his stuff, Mr. Swango. The Calexico Puppies were the only undefeated team in all the IMPERIAL VALLEY LEAGUE. They had a few close skins with a couple of the Valley quintets, but our little five would always come out of the basketball court on top like cream on milk. They were instructed and taught a few tricks on how to play the game by coaches Sammy Nunez and Richard Felix. l lilli UB!! The Bulldogs traveled to Yuma to defeat the Criminals in a close match, and went to San Diego only to lose a close one' to the Grossmont Foothillers. The Bulldogs engaged the El Centro Spartans in a two out of three gamc series for the valley championship, and it was necessary to play only the first two for the Bulldogs to cinch their third consecutive valley title. The girls' team played two practice matches with El Centro, but the lack of girls forced the Bulldogs to concede the championship to the Spartanettes. s .7 , lwww ,l.a.-1 .J ' BYHUZ, A- J- Delgado, Arsenio L1a,n0s,Ma,ri0 , Br-amz, Miko Delgado, Rodolfo JI' Moreno, Frank ff' ' Brazie, Betty Doolittle, Jeanni Nunez, Sammy '-- f Calvin, Travis Garcia, Alfred Otter, Alice Carmichael, Joy Garcia, Javier Reed, Jerry 2 , Cavanah, Earl Gunterman, Jean Servin, Lupe ' if Chavez, Carlos Jacobs, Lyla Silva, Elvira ' Q l F- . , IIIIHIIIP IVOILIIU IBA IILIILIEZZAIWI It The Bulldog baseball season wasnt very successful th1s yeal as the team won only two games whlle loslng four As there were only two teams ln the league the Bulldogs and the Fl Centro Spartans played a two out of three game ser les for the champlonshlp wlth the Spartans wlnnmg The other two defeats were at the hands of Yuma and Gross mont The B team howexer played a three game serles wltle Fl Centro and won two of them to take the Valley suuad tltle OUR S THEIR 5 VARSITY Yuma Yuma EI Centro El Centro El Centro Grossmont Centro Centro Centro 9-u VARSITY Bmtton Frank Geermg Bob Cuevas Gaspar Geermg Jlm Dowe Les Gutlel 1 ez Rodolfo Fellx RlCh1e Lmn Ed Nunez Sammy Padllla Carlos ILINIOR VARSITY Fhas Rlchard Lmn Ed Nunez Sammy Geerlng Bob Martmez Ray Parra Oscar Gutxerrez Rodolfo Mezta Javxer Salazar Frank Moreno Louls Parra Oscar Morlett Arthur Salazar Frank Smlth B111 Stmson Charlle Terrazas Albex t Smlth Jerry Thompson Charles Ybaz ra Joe Hernandez Rodolfo Morlett Arthur Smalllng Harold Zxmmerman Ralph ' - 1 f - A - - - I- - ' ' '1 QD 60 , I I XX X L.: ' ,L It . , . .
