GX Nl-3 Keeping the tennis spirit alive at Calexico High, the' boys' and girls' teams played matches with El Centro, Holtville, and Yuma. The boys' team made an excellent showing by winning every match. The girls' team slipped a little this year by taking 2nd pl-HC? in the' Valley League Tournament. In the Imperial Valley League Play-off, which was held at El Centro, April 7, Cal- exico players made a good record. Charlene Mandrapa placed as Girls' Singles Champ, Earl Cavanah and Sammy Nunez gained position as Boys' Doubles Champs: Frank Mo- reno was Boys' Singles Runner-up: Bob Press and Ioy Carmichael placed as Mixed Dou- bles Runners-up: Pat Bowling and Lupe Servin came out Girls' Doubles Runners-up. ln this tournament Calexico placed more players than any other school in the Valley.
