Caledonia 27 Canisteo 6 The Raiders got off to a good start in defense of the Livingston County championship by trouncing Canisteo. Two first-half touchdowns by Ross and one by Niedz- wick put the Raiders way ahead. A punt blocked by Bonacquisti and recovered by Heater, resulted in another TD. Canisteo scored their only touchdown in the final minutes of play. Caledonia 7 Dansville 22 The Raiders were unable to cope with the big, fast Dansville team which controlled the game from the opening kick-off. Unable to move the ball on our first set of downs, a bad hike over our punteris head re- sulted in a safety for the Mustangs. The Raiders did not mount a serious threat until the fourth period when fullback jackson scored our only TD. The extra point was good. Caledonia 6 Geneseo 7 The Raiders suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 defeat at the hands of the Geneseo Blue Devils for their second setback. Fumbles and miscues by the Raiders led to their downfall. Although the Raiders pushed Geneseo all over the field and were on the verge of scoring five times, they were able to score only once on a two- yard sneak by quarterback Cappotelli. The extra point failed, and the final score was Geneseo 7, Caledonia 6. Caledonia 13 Mt. Morris 0 During a steady drizzle, the Raiders evened their record 2-2 when they defeated a previously unbeaten Mt. Morris team. The first half was a see-saw battle with neither team able to score. C. Brown scored our first touchdown in the third quarter on an end sweep, and Niedzwick plunged over for the extra point. Ross scored the other TD on a spectacular run of about 15 yards. The extra point was no good. The Raider defense was a standout during the second half, with Mt. Morris unable to pose a serious threat. 4 Caledonia 26 York 6 On a beautiful night, the Raiders made it two wins with a resounding victory over York. Scoring for the Raiders was done by Ross, Niedzwick, jackson, and Williams. Williams caught the first touchdown pass the year thrown by Brown. Another first in this game came when Cappotelli kicked for an extra point, and it was good. The Raider defense was again a standout with York's only TD coming after a fumble deep our territory. Caledonia 26 Avon 0 The first time the Raiders had the ball, they mar 96 yards for a TD with Niedzwick scoring. Cappr went four yards around the end for the second 5 in the third quarter. The second TD pass of the from Brown to Bonacquisti covered twenty yards gave the Raiders their third score. Ross scored the touchdown and the Raiders had a decisive win their arch rival Avon. Caledonia 6 Livonia O Led by a staunch defense which allowed only one touchdown in the last four games, the Raiders defeated Livonia 6-O. The game was marked by many fumbles, due to the extreme cold and snow which covered the field. Livonia fumbled five times, and we recovered four. Scoring the only TD was Niedzwick. Caledonia 0 LeRoy 39 The Raiders were clobbered by a tremendous LeRoy team in their final outing of the season. The Raiders played an outstanding game but were just outclassed by a hard-hitting LeRoy outfit. Senior Raiders seeing their last action were john Niedz- wick, Charlie Brown, Don Cappotelli, Paul Ross,Monty Williams, Dick Krenzer, Mike Heater, Pete Coppini, Russ Tetrault, CJ. Resch, D-i Hermansen, Gene Cooney, jim Straight, jim Ladd, George Collins, Don Neale, Skip Bonacquisti, and Ron Robinson. SCORES Caledonia 1 3 Dansville 0 Caledonia 21 Geneseo 6 Caledonia 20 Mt.
