tudent Council Serves Student Body The Student Council, Qcomposed of representatives from the other or- ganizations and classes, J functions for the benefit of the school. Some of the activities of the Student Council are sponsoring after-game dances, school dress code rules, and making rules in general by which the stu- dents should abide. Each spring, the Student Council is in charge of pre- senting the Awards Assembly, at which time awards are given to out- standing students. The Council's main money -mak- ing project this year Was the installa tion of a pop machine. oosters The purpose for the existence of schools in our American society is to provide all students an opportunity to develop those individual endowments he alone possesses. lt is to this purpose we direct our objectives and ever increasing efforts that those who avail themselves of the opportunity provided here may trans - cend from the unnurtured and faltering start to a strong, confident, and prom - ising future that all Americans deserve May we always, as Americans, be mindful of the heritage of democracy, citizenship, national pride, and the guarantee of liberty to all, that pre- empts the purpose for our existence.
