Cabinet 3-45 State Music Festival Ensemble 1-2- Seniona ob '57 The Class of '57 has grown from small, bewildered freshmen to sophisticated seniors ready for graduation. When the Seniors of '57 were freshmen they were led by their class officers, Sibyl lngle, Diana Perry, and Don Wykes. Diana Perry was chosen football queen during the sophomore year. John Dillard, Jerome Niebaum, and Lloyd Reeves were the sophomore year class officers. As Juniors, under the leadership of Jerome Niebaum, Alfred Lowe, Marilyn Lungren, and Beth Hardesty, the year was very busy. The Juniors sold magazines, and scored a big hit with their play, A Dance with our Miss Brooks. With these funds they entertained the seniors with Rhapsody in Blue, the theme of the iunior-senior banquet. A citizenship essay contest was won by Diana Perry. Diana's essay won first in district and third in the state. Soon they were seniors and found themselves snowed under with activities. The Class of '57 elected Chet May, Jane Peters, Diana Perry, and Marilyn Lungren as their class leaders. Alfred Lowe was elected All-State High School Gridman. The senior boys who played on the football team were proud to say they had won the Southern Kansas League football championship for four years straight. Beth Hardesty was elected queen of the football team and John Dillard served as student council president. The seniors presented a comedy December Bride on December 7. Skip Day, their senior trip, and graduation brought their memorable high school days to a close. Sponsored by GUYER HARDWARE I0
